Having spent 7 years in Dubai, it has been a great environment in which to grow as a photographer along with this vibrant pulsating city. With the ever changing landscape, there are endless new subjects to be shot in whatever light you please. Having done several projects in both Photography and Videography, I try to bring a unique angle to every shot, each influenced by the style and effect of the other. With new opportunities to shoot both photo and video portfolios for single marketing campaigns, the idea of building a vision has now become a reality.

With my broad base of experience covering a variety of different aspects of the Photographic pie, I am confident in taking on any new project that grabs my fancy. Having shot a variety of different subjects from wildlife, nature and the outdoors to interiors, architecture and food, I believe I can bring an element of freshness to your photographic needs. Stepping outside of the box to interpret it in my own way whilst not violating every principle is a fine line I like to walk in my work.

Answering the Call

Having wrapped myself up in commercial only work for the last two years I decided it was time to get back to working on some interest only photography. By this I mean photographing the stuff that I love to shoot and immersing myself in it. This usually means two things...Early mornings and Money to burn. In this case both

Having always had a keen interest in architecture and landscapes I decided it was high time to get out and photograph some of the amazing new architecture that is springing up all over Dubai. Having lived and worked in Dubai for over 7 years now I have to say that I had become a bit numb to the constant change and the continual flow of “worlds biggest” everything. But when my brother arrived in Dubai with ambitions of working in photography I was forced to take a new look at the city through the eyes of a newcomer. This sparked the inevitable quest to go out and photograph all the latest architecture and hopefully come up with a fresh perspective on this crazy city.

As I write this I am two weeks in to shooting the new series and I have just accustomed myself to the daily 4 am start to catch those 15 or so minutes of heavenly light each day. The task is made harder by the fact that its the beginning of the Arabian summer and dust sallies the blue sky to a grey brown smog most of the time. But each morning for the briefest period we are blessed with intense blues and purples, occasionally giving way to a sliver of red Arabian sunrise.

Getting back to the story though, in addition to shooting what I hope to be a fresh perspective on the Dubai Skyline, I am finally taking the plunge and getting into the frustrating art of Photomacrography. In my case as in all others, I go to extremes and decided it was time to get the canon MPE 65 and the Canon Macro Twin Light. This is no ordinary macro setup, and has the ability to give you a 5x magnification ratio. It is due to arrive tomorrow so with any luck I will have some truly amazing images and a new gallery section to add to my website soon.
